Level 2 in Plumbing at MidKent College

Course description

Enrol on our level 2 course and develop an in-depth understanding of the skills required for a career in the plumbing/heating or building services industries.You will be required to undertake more technical tasks than on the level 1 programme, including hot and cold water, sanitation and drainage, and bathroom and heating installations.This course also covers central heating, environmental awareness, customer care and lots more.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade D or above including English or maths at grade 3 or above.

Future opportunities

Successful completion of the course will significantly improve your chances of employment in the plumbing and heating industry. It could also help you progress to a level 3 programme or an apprenticeship.

> You will learn mostly through practical tasks and demonstrations but will also be expected to attend theory lessons> You will be continuously assessed through assignments, activity reports, phase tests, a portfolio of your work and an online exam> This is a study programme which includes English, maths and work experience in addition to your main programme

    • Set in the Oakwood Park complex, MidKent College's Maidstone Campus provides a pleasant learning environment for students. The site houses a range of quality workshops – including those for Bricklaying, Carpentry, Motor Vehicle and Welding – as well as a large learning resource centre, refectory and welcoming social zone.

      In 2012 major redevelopment work costing a total of £25 million started at the Maidstone Campus, with new state-of-the-art facilities expected to be open by December 2013.

      As part of the rebuild MidKent College has purchased the University for the Creative Arts' Maidstone campus, which is also based at Oakwood Park and now houses the majority of the College's higher education courses.
