Level 2 in Bricklaying at MidKent College

Course description

Build a strong foundation for working life by enrolling on one of our Construction Crafts courses. Ideal for school-leavers or mature students who wish to learn a trade!Whether your interest is in painting and decorating, carpentry/bench joinery or brickwork/masonry, you will learn the skills required to get your career off the ground and onto the building site.Units including health and safety, employment rights and responsibilities and more will also be covered.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade D or above including English or maths at grade 3 or above.

Future opportunities

Students who complete this course may have the opportunity to progress onto qualifications at level 3 subject to suitability, attendance record, attitude etc. Alternatively, they may be able to secure an apprenticeship or employment (with training) in their trade of choice.

    • Set in the Oakwood Park complex, MidKent College's Maidstone Campus provides a pleasant learning environment for students. The site houses a range of quality workshops – including those for Bricklaying, Carpentry, Motor Vehicle and Welding – as well as a large learning resource centre, refectory and welcoming social zone.

      In 2012 major redevelopment work costing a total of £25 million started at the Maidstone Campus, with new state-of-the-art facilities expected to be open by December 2013.

      As part of the rebuild MidKent College has purchased the University for the Creative Arts' Maidstone campus, which is also based at Oakwood Park and now houses the majority of the College's higher education courses.
