Course description

Earn while you learn on an apprenticeship with the College! This nationally recognised standard will provide you with the skills, experience and knowledge you need to progress in your chosen career. Your apprenticeship framework will include a combination of on-the-job training, studying for your qualification at College and maths, English and possibly ICT depending on the framework and any prior GCSEs.If you're thinking about a career in Business, or want to one day own your own, an apprenticeship in Business Administration can set you up to progress into the world of business.You will learn about:> Producing, storing and archiving documents> Creating spreadsheets> Reception skills> Filing and working as part of a team> Administrative skills> Knowledge and responsibilities involved in supervising and managing teams> Current legislation impacting on work in a business environment

Entry requirements

Students need to have the following:> Successful completion of the Level 2 Apprenticeship> Employment within the sector with a contract of employment for at least 30 hours per week> A good standard of education with 5 GCSEs at A-C / 9-4 including maths and English (or equivalent)> Satisfactory completion of the college initial assessment

    • Set in the Oakwood Park complex, MidKent College's Maidstone Campus provides a pleasant learning environment for students. The site houses a range of quality workshops – including those for Bricklaying, Carpentry, Motor Vehicle and Welding – as well as a large learning resource centre, refectory and welcoming social zone.

      In 2012 major redevelopment work costing a total of £25 million started at the Maidstone Campus, with new state-of-the-art facilities expected to be open by December 2013.

      As part of the rebuild MidKent College has purchased the University for the Creative Arts' Maidstone campus, which is also based at Oakwood Park and now houses the majority of the College's higher education courses.
