Future opportunities
History is a highly valued subject applicable to many Higher Education studies. The Russel Group Universities refer to History as a “facilitating” subject. These subjects are required more often than others when applying for University and provide students
with the most options. A Level History provides students with the discipline and necessary skills to continue their studies in a broad range of degrees and High Education routes.
Students considering careers in law, politics, journalism, curating, media, research, armed services or civil services should be encouraged to study history. However, it is a very broad subject and people with history qualifications follow many different career
paths.
