Design (Textile Art) A Level at Wheatley Park School

Course description

The A Level course comprises of three major elements: supporting studies, practical work and a personal study.

Supporting studies and practical work will comprise a portfolio of development work and outcomes based on themes and ideas developed from personal starting points. The personal study will require you to produce an essay focusing on an artist/ designer or process connected to your own study.

The final element to the course will be the externally set assignment (the final practical exam).

Component 1: Personal investigation: supporting studies, practical work and a personal study.

Component 2: Externally set assignment: preparatory studies and the accompanying 15 hour practical exam.

Entry requirements

The basic entry requirement for Level 3 courses in Wheatley Park Sixth Form is to complete 8 GCSEs or equivalent, including a minimum of grade 4 in five subjects which must include English and Mathematics.
