The Level 3 Technical Diploma in Early Years Education and Care will prepare you for working with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years.

Studying this Level 3 Technical Diploma in Early Years Education and Care course at Hayesfield also gives you the opportunity to visit and experience the fantastic Norland facilities, participate in their guest lectures and have a unique insight into the world of the Norland Nanny.

This qualification is aimed at students who want to enter the workforce as an early years practitioner or have the opportunity to access a higher education establishment such as Norland College.

The Level 3 Technical Diploma is equivalent to two A Levels.

Course content

The Technical Diploma is focused around 4 themes:

Theme 1 - Health and well-being

Theme 2 - Legislation, frameworks and professional practice

Theme 3 - Play, development and learning for school readiness

Theme 4 - Professional development You will also undertake an exciting professional work placement for one and a half days a week alongside your studies.

Entry requirements

Grade 4s in GCSE English and Maths.


You will be assessed via a mixture of coursework, a multiplechoice exam, a reflective study and an extended essay.
