About this Course


This Advanced Apprenticeship will be covered over a two year period. It will provide the level of competence and knowledge to perform tasks to advanced industry standards.

Course content

What will I study?

  • Training consists of 80% on the job and 20% College based
  • Engines
  • Transmission
  • Braking systems
  • Electrical systems
  • Fault diagnosis and repair
  • Functional Skills: English, maths, ICT
  • Employment rights and responsibilities (ERR)
  • Personal, learning and thinking skills (PLTS)

Entry requirements

What are the entry requirements?

  • Successful completion of Intermediate Apprenticeship in Engineering or Motor Vehicle
  • GCSE English and maths, grades A to C (or equivalent)
  • You and your employer must be able to demonstrate a strong willingness and commitment to their programme of study
