Art and Design AS Level at The Grey Coat Hospital

Course description

The AS course is worth 50% of the A Level and stands alone as a qualification. Students will be required to produce sketchbooks, work journals, and final pieces for internal and external moderation.

Course content

2 units of work in the AS course Unit 1 Coursework Unit 2 Exam Exhibition displaying the work will be in May in AS/A2 year

Entry requirements

To study in the Sixth Form, students need to attain five GCSE grades at A*-C, including English and Mathematics. Minimum grade B at GCSE Art and English

The key to success in the AS course is enthusiasm and dedication, sound drawing skills, independent research, consistent hard work, reviewing and improving work and working to deadlines.

Every year our A level students go on to Foundation Courses at London Art colleges such as the Prince’s Drawing school, Kingston University, University of the Arts (London College of Communication, Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon Colleges of Art and Central St Martins) Working Men’s College in Camden and Kensington and Chelsea College.
