Enterprise and entrepreneurship BTEC at Myton School

Course description

The BTEC National Diploma Level 3 in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship offers you the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised, vocationally specific qualification which enables you to understand enterprise and entrepreneurship and to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attitudes which are essential for successful performance in working life.

Course content

The mandatory units are:

  • Enterprise and Entrepreneurship
  • Developing a Marketing Campaign
  • Business and Personal Finance
  • Launch and Run an Enterprise
  • Survival and Growth
  • Business Decision Making

And the optional units are:

  • Social Enterprise
  • Entrepreneurship and Intrapreneurship in practice
  • Innovation and Enterprises

Entry requirements

At least the minimum general entry requirements and a Merit if studying Level 2 BTEC Business

Assessment

The new BTEC in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship use a combination of assessment styles: including written exams, internally marked assignments and externally marked tasks:

  1. Enterprise and Entrepreneurship – assignment set and marked internally
  2. Developing a Marketing Campaign – task set and marked externally (by Pearson)
  3. Business and Personal Finance – written exam set and marked externally (Pearson)
  4. Launch and Run an Enterprise – assignment set and marked internally
  5. Survival and Growth – assignment set and marked internally
  6. Business Decision Making – task set and marked externally (by Pearson)
  7. Social Enterprise – assignment set and marked internally
  8. Entrepreneurship and Intrapreneurship in practice – assignment set and marked internally
  9. Innovation and Enterprises – assignment set and marked internally

Future opportunities

This BTEC Level 3 will get you started in business and give you the skills and knowledge to progress to higher education, run your own business or pitch for employment.
