Geography AS/A level at Rosedale College

Course description

This course is suitable for students who have a desire to expand upon the knowledge they have acquired from GCSE Geography or those who have a passion for deepening their understanding of the ever changing world around us. Students who are deep thinkers, those who enjoy debating topical issues, students who relish carrying out personal investigations, and have awareness and interest in the planet on a global scale will enjoy A Level Geography.

Course content

The course will explore and develop the following topics of interest: AS LEVEL GEOGRAPHY - Globalisation - Crowded Coasts - Rebranding - Natural Hazards This course also includes a week long residential which enables the students to carry out a wide variety of investigations linked to the Crowded Coasts and Rebranding topics. A LEVEL GEOGRAPHY Tectonic Processes and Hazards Coastal Landscapes and Change The Water Cycle and Water Insecurity Globalisation/ Super Powers Regenerating Places Global Development and Connections Independent Investigation [based on fieldwork).

Entry requirements

Students must have achieved a minimum of 5 A*- C grades or ffle equivalent at GCSE, including a grade C in GCSE English and Mathematics.

AS LEVEL GEOGRAPHY Two written examinations A LEVEL GEOGRAPHY Two written examinations.
