IT, Software, Web & Telecoms Professionals Apprenticeship at East Sussex College

Course description

The apprenticeship framework is made up of a number of qualifications aimed at equipping you with the skills which form the basis of a career in the IT, Software, Web and Telecoms industry. You must achieve all elements to be awarded your apprenticeship. These include a Level 2 Professional Competence qualification and a practical work-based vocational qualification at Level 2. As part of the apprenticeship you will also be required to work towards Functional Skill qualifications in English, Maths and ICT at Level 1. The Level 2 apprenticeship will help you build your skills in working in one of these IT environments and covers areas such as website development, technical fault diagnosis and software installation and upgrade.

Entry requirements

You will need to meet our standard entry requirements.

There are no entry conditions for this Apprenticeship framework; however you must be working at Level 1 or above for English and Maths. The college will determine this level through initial assessment prior to the apprenticeship commencing.


You will build a portfolio of evidence against the relevant standards which will include observation, professional discussion, reflective accounts/candidate reports, witness testimonies and assignments. Multiple choice testing will be used for the Functional Skills.

Future opportunities

After completing this course, you may wish to progress to the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship if your job role is suitable and allows you the opportunities to provide evidence.
