Media A level at Falmouth School
Media Studies A Level is a modern qualification which develops both your analytical and production skills. Half the course is assessed via production work, on which you are encouraged to work with fellow students to produce videos. Students use a range of new technologies to complete their production coursework including websites and magazines. There is also an exam-based unit which looks at a range of media – from television, film, newspapers to the Internet. This course has one third of it taught time with Falmouth University lecturers using their facilities for regular teaching and one day workshops.
A Level Media combines well with other creative subjects and enables you to progress into both university education and employment. This course is ideal for careers in film and TV/ video production, advertising, radio, publishing and the new media industries. You should take this qualification with Film, English, Photography or other essay and critical-based subjects.
