Hairdressing level 3 VTCT at Falmouth School

Course description

All students will be expected to find a work placement. The Level 3 Course will enable you to develop your basic skills into advanced skills. Obtaining a Level 3 qualification is the most recognised qualification to enable you to progress with your chosen path. Both of these courses are taught within our recently well-equipped refurbished salon environment. The salon provides a professional service to the paying general public which enables the students to work in a realistic working environment and prepare them for the work place.

Course content

Health and safety  Client consultation  Working in the hair industry  Shampoo and condition the hair  The art of dressing hair  Cutting women’s hair  Colour and lighten hair  Promote products and services to clients  Create an image based on a theme within the hair and beauty sector. The Level 3 Course will enable you to develop these basic (level 2) skills into advanced skills.

Assessment

The courses are taught through practical observation and the delivery of essential knowledge.

Learning to be a Hairdresser can offer you a wide range of opportunities within the Hairdressing industry. It is a skill that can follow you throughout your working life and offer opportunities such as:  Starting as a qualified stylist to becoming an artistic director  Owning your own hairdressing business  Working in the TV/film industry, covering media and theatre work  Travelling the world with cruise ships  Training within the education sector  Be able to provide training through product distributors and manufacturers
