Course description

Health, social and early years care is a vast and expanding area with a very wide range of opportunities for employment and further study. This course will give you a good grounding in some of the major aspects of Health and Social Care. It will involve independent research of case studies, practical research skills, placement visits / shadowing and give you a broad introduction to the health, social care and early years' sectors.

Course content

Year 12:
Human lifespan development (Exam unit)
Meeting individual care and support needs (Course work unit)
Year 13:
Working in Health and Social Care (Exam unit)
One of the following (Course work unit):
Sociological perspectives
Psychological perspectives
Individuals with additional needs
Physiological disorders and their care

No specific entry requirements.

Future opportunities

This qualification is designed to support progression to higher education. Equally this qualification give you license to practice Health and Social Care and would allow you to secure a job in many Health and Social Care work sectors where you will then be provided with further training.
