Health and Social Care Extended Diploma Level 3 at Sittingbourne Technical College

Course description

This qualification develops the knowledge and skills needed when working with adults in health and social care environments. It covers a wide range of areas including supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health care procedures. The Extended Diploma includes a wide range of optional units, allowing learners to pursue an interest in the specific areas of social care, health studies and health sciences.

The first year involves a Level 3 Award & Certificate and the second year a Level 3 Extended Diploma

Entry requirements

4 Cs or 4s including English and maths.


By a portfolio of written assignments, practical role plays and observations, work experience and internal/external assessments. You will receive both verbal and written feedback from your tutors. Formal external exams will be taken for English and Maths GCSE as necessary.

Future opportunities

Upon achievement of this qualification learners will be able to progress onto the second year of Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care. The Certificate supports learners? access to Higher Education and progression into a wide range of job roles within the health and social care sector. The qualification also supports progression to further learning in related subject areas at Level 4 and above.

This course is excellent preparation for employment into health & social care profession.
