Hairdressing Level 2 at East Kent College

Course description

Perfect if you want to learn the skills needed to work as a qualified Hairdresser.

Course content

You’ll learn how to conduct a thorough consultation prior to starting a service and understand how the choice of shampoos and conditioners can affect the hair and scalp.

You will also cover cutting and colouring techniques needed to create amazing hairstyles. You can look forward to working in the College’s on-site salon on external clients.

Entry requirements

4 Ds or 3s including English and maths or a relevant full level 1.

Assessment

You will learn through practical demonstrations, and assessment will be through written work and online tests.

Trip £ 30 (approx.)

If you are 16-18yrs old at the start of the Study Programme, it will be free. There may be additional payments required for trips, visits and other materials. For adult learners (over 19) financial support towards the costs of your Study Programme may be available. Eligible students may be able to get help with course related costs such as travel, equipment and childcare.

Please note: For those claiming state working age benefit this course is classed as part-time.

Future opportunities

On successful completion you could progress on to our Level 3 programme or seek employment in hair salons or as a self-employed Hairdresser.
