Construction and the Built Environment First Award Level 2 at Bradford College

Course description

This qualification has been developed to give you an engaging and stimulating introduction to the construction industry and help you to progress into employment.

Course content

The course includes two core units that form the fundamental knowledge, skills and understanding of construction technology and design, and one mandatory unit which will give you the additional knowledge, understanding and skills that are essential to the construction sector.

The core units are:

  • Construction Technology
  • Construction and Design.

The mandatory unit is:

  • Scientific and Mathematical Applications for Construction.

You will then choose one further unit from a choice of seven optional specialist units.

Entry requirements

GCSEs at Grade D-G/3-1 or at the discretion of the course tutor.

Assessment

The course includes one externally assessed unit and the remaining units are internally assessed.

Future opportunities

On completion of the course you will be able to progress to a Level 3 course or into employment or an apprenticeship within the Construction sector.
