Course description

If you want to enhance your entrepreneurial skills even further and develop the insight, knowledge and abilities to stand out and succeed in any business situation, then this Level 3 BTEC could be just the course for you. Whether you’re learning how to start a company from scratch or how multinational corporations operate, you’ll look at a wide range of topics relevant to every aspect of business. You’ll focus on human resource management and how different departments must coordinate to ensure their activities are successful and you’ll learn about the importance of communication in any business situation. We’ll also help you understand globalisation and how it impacts on international businesses, as well as taking a closer look at business law, finance and accounting. You’ll even learn about marketing and the different methods used to promote brands, all with a focus on developing your career.

Each topic on this BTEC Diploma is assignment based and these assignments could take a variety of forms, including group work, individual presentations, role plays, course work, and evaluations of business case studies.

With this Level 3 BTEC Diploma, you’ll have the qualifications you need to continue studying business, or a related subject, at university level. You could enrol on a foundation degree with us in Business and Marketing or Business and Management, before topping those up to a BA (Hons) degree if you wanted to. You’ll also have a wide range of skills and abilities to help you gain access to a career of your choice. You could be working specifically in the marketing or finance department of an international business, or be setting up and running your own company. Whichever area interests you, there are a wide variety of career options in the business sector to follow.

    • Northenden Campus is a large, welcoming campus, offering a wide range of courses for school leavers, apprentices, adults and university-level students. We’ve invested £2 million in the campus to make it a great place to study vocational and academic courses. We’ve created a wildlife haven within the grounds and wildlife corridors connecting the site to the beautiful Wythenshawe Park nearby. Some of the facilities at Northenden are open to the public, including beauty salons.

      Local area

      Northenden is a suburb of south Manchester. There are shops, a supermarket, restaurants and takeaways 15 minutes’ walk from the campus in central Northenden. There are also a small supermarket and shops closer to the campus. Northenden is surrounded by green space. The campus is minutes away from Gib Lane Wood and Wythenshawe Park which includes a community farm. It is also close to the Mersey Valley nature reserve; a riverside walk through miles of countryside and parkland.
