Performing Arts (Musical Theatre) BTEC Extended Diploma Level 3 at The Manchester College
Helping you take your career in musical theatre to the next level, this practical, exciting and energetic BTEC Extended Diploma is the ideal course to fully equip you for a future on the stage, or behind it! You’ll focus on developing and honing your skills in the three main disciplines of musical theatre: singing, acting and dancing. As well as looking at the principles and techniques in each of these areas, you’ll learn all about vocal care, how to sing effectively as an actor, and how to keep up the fitness required for dance. The course will also help you explore a range of possible career opportunities in the industry, giving you the skills required to understand the business side of performance and succeed in it.
The course uses a mixture of practical performances, skills demonstrations and written coursework to assess how you’re progressing. All written work will form a part of a larger practical piece, and could include research on directors, playwrights, choreographers or anything that underpins your performance!
All full-time courses are free to 16-18 year olds who meet funding regulations. For further details please call the Course Enquiry Team on 03333 222 444.
