Digital Industries - Level 3 Extended Diploma in Web Development at Wakefield College
The course begins with a Level 3 Diploma achievable at the end of Year 1. Successful completion at the required level, plus good attendance and punctuality, will lead to continuation into Year 2. The Level 3 Extended Diploma is achievable at the end of Year 2. You will study a variety of units from the UAL specification, including designing and building websites, create social media campaigns, creating designs for print, etc.
4 GCSEs at A*-C (new grade 9-4) including English and Maths
4 GCSEs at A*-C (new grade 9-4)
Level 2 Functional Skills in either English or Maths, and
Grade D (new grade 3) or Level 1 Functional Skills in the other
Merit Level 2 Diploma, or equivalent, with Level 2 English Language and Maths
A portfolio of work
You will be assessed through a series of practical and academic assignments that count towards your final grade. Your tutor will provide you with regular developmental feedback and maintain a record of assessment.
The Creative & Digital Industries course has been specifically created with Wakefield College’s CDIT Foundation Degrees in mind. Students can progress onto our FdA Web Design or Computing courses.
The course is the first step to working in a wide range of careers in the creative and digital industries. Potential careers include Web Designer, Web Developer, Front-End Developer, Graphic Designer, Digital Designer, Digital Marketer, Social Media Manager, Digital Account Manager, and many more.
