Course description

Develop your analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills through the study of legal rules and the structure and operation of the English legal system. You will also gain understanding of legal method and reasonsing for you to progress on to University or pursue a wide range of careers.You will study:Law making and the legal systemThe concept of liabilityIn your second year you will study criminal law including:Human rightsContract lawTort and concepts of LawThis course is approximately 90% exam and 10% coursework.

Course content

You will take part in a mock trial to provide you an insight into the legal sector. You will also complete case studies, research and examinations. Throughout the year you will be introduced to guest speakers from the law industry and take part in visits to local courts. You will also take part in a legal work placement to give you real experience in a legal environment.

Entry requirements

APS 44 and 5 GCSEs at grades C or above including English and maths and a grades C/5 or above.
