Health and Childcare Level 1 Diploma at Lincoln College
The aim of this course is to provide you with the knowledge and awareness of the types of provision in the Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s sectors. This programme will help you understand the roles played
by workers and the opportunity to take optional units in more specialised areas, such as learning disability; sensory loss or mental health.
Successful completion of this programme could allow you to progress onto a relevant Level 2 programme, such as a Level 2 Certificate in an Introduction to Caring for Children and Young People or a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care, whilst preparing you for employment within the sector.
During the course of the programme, you will study the following: Awareness of Protecting Vulnerable Adults; Safeguarding Children; Introduction to a Healthy Lifestyle and Understanding Principles and Values in Health and Social Care.
It is essential for all candidates to have an enhanced DBS check before they can go into any Health and Social Care setting. Candidates must be aware that if they have received a caution, reprimand or conviction it may prohibit them from enrolling on a Health and Social Care programme and gaining employment in a care or childcare setting.
