Football Development Centre at Sunderland College
This course is for students looking to progress their football skills to an elite level with dedicated training while studying on a full time sports qualification.
This course will cover a range of areas involved with sports and exercise including:
- Technical, tactical and skills in sport
- Instructing physical activity
- Psychology for sports performance
- Sports massage
- Sports injuries
The course content will support your development as an elite footballer including free physiotherapy, strength and conditioning and nutritional advice.
You will need to have a history of achievement in football at professional clubs, county or district representation or a good reference from your school.
You will also need to have four GCSEs at a grade C or above including or a suitable Level 2 qualification.
This course is taught through a mixture of theory and practical lessons in our brand new Sports Academy at Bede Campus.
After successfully graduation from the Football Development Centre you could progress on to a higher education course at Sunderland College or university including Foundation Degrees in Sports Coaching or Exercise, Health and Fitness.
The dedicated football coaching will also give you the training required to compete at a professional level at national and international competitions.
