Art and Design BTEC Advanced Diploma Level 3 at Fareham College

Course description

This exciting and varied course is for students with a strong interest and passion for art and design. It is particularly suitable for students who wish to progress to university or develop a professional career in the art or design industry.

As you progress the course will give you the opportunity to develop your own ideas and specialise in an aspect of art and design which interests you.

Tuition will take place in our well equipped studios with industry standard equipment.
There are visits to galleries and museums locally and nationally.

You will also be able to take part in a residential study visit – previous destinations have included Lisbon, Budapest, Berlin and Florence and St Ives.

This course will provide you with practical experience in many aspects of

  • art and design
  • drawing
  • painting
  • 3D including metalwork
  • design
  • textiles
  • print-making
  • photography
  • fine art
  • illustration and more.

Entry requirements

5 GCSE’s at grade C or above including English, maths and a creative subject. A portfolio of your artwork is required at interview.


Assessment is continuous through exciting projects, culminating in a final project and display at our annual Summer Exhibition.

Future opportunities

You can progress to university or art school to study a degree or HND in the many disciplines of art and design, or seek employment in the creative sector.
