Photography, Graphics and Illustration UAL Diploma Level 3 at Southampton City College

Course description

This two-year course has been created with photographers and graphic design companies to prepare you with the skills and technical ability required for employment in the sector. Most of the work is practical and studio based which is underpinned by theory classes, visits to galleries, exhibitions and museums and includes some written work in the form of sketchbooks and essays. You will get to showcase your work to the public, local employers and higher education institutions at our end of year exhibition.

Entry requirements

  • 5 GCSEs grades A*-C (including English), or
  • Level 2 in Art and Design (including Level 2 in Literacy)

Future opportunities

  • HNC/HND in Photography
  • Photography or Graphic Design Degree at university
  • Work as a freelance photographer, photographic assistant, picture editor, trainee photo journalist, image curator
