Course description

The Hairdressing industry is competitive, fast moving and ever changing, with an emphasis on providing a great service to clients. A career in Hairdressing offers many opportunities and challenges and is closely linked to the Fashion industry.

This Diploma/Certificate will provide you with a fantastic platform for progression ay work or to further study, honing in on your customer facing skills as well as helping to develop your skills with new techniques and treatments.

Working with real clients in the Academy of Hair & beauty is a perfect way to start your career in Hairdressing. Fully equipped, state of the art industry standard salons using top professional equipment and products make an ideal learning platform for you to learn the practical as well as the theoretical side of Hairdressing. You will be taught the techniques and skills to cut, colour, shape and dress female clients’ hair to create the look they want by Hairdressing specialists. Visiting experts make sure you are exposed to the most up to date information and developments in areas such as straightening techniques and products, and colouring. As a Hairdressing student you can take part in internal and regional competitions which are a wonderful platform to show off your newly found talents as well as visiting the Manchester Trade Fair. If you complete the Hairdressing Certificate Level 2 within 1 year, you will have the fast track to progress to the Hairdressing Diploma Level 2.

Entry requirements

Hair & Beauty Level 1 or previous experience including English & maths GCSEs 9-2 (A*- E)
