Business Studies BTEC Level 3 Diploma at Denefield School

Course description

The course comprises twelve units that are all coursework based. These units include:

  • The business environment: students will explore why we have businesses and the range of business organisations that exist.
  • Business resources: students will develop knowledge of the different human, physical, technological and financial resources that are used by businesses.
  • Introduction to marketing: students will look at how marketing, research, planning and the marketing mix are used by different types of organisations.
  • Entry requirements

    To study some facilitating subjects or BTEC qualifications you will need to have achieved an average of 40-45 points from your GCSE qualifications (mostly Cs and Bs). You will not be able to study any science or mathematics subjects at AS.

    To study BTEC qualifications you will need to have achieved an average of 20-39 points from your GCSE qualifications (mostly Cs and Ds). As a minimum you must have achieved four GCSEs at grade C, including English.Assessment is coursework based and requires students to undertake self-driven research. There is an expectation of students to work both on their own and in groups as well as maintaining an excellent record of attendance
