Construction BTEC (Equivalent to 4 GCSEs) at Yewlands Technology College
Aspects of construction covered include bricklaying, carpentry, painting and decorating amongst others.
This course is approximately 50% practical and 50% theory. It is ideal for those students serious about exploring the possibility of a career in the construction industry.
Learner options may include progression onto a further qualification for construction and the built environment, for example vocational qualifications such as the Edexcel BTEC National qualification in Construction, Civil Engineering or Building Services Engineering, or entry into employment within the construction industry, with the possibility of undertaking additional training, leading for example to the completion of an NVQ and an apprenticeship.
The course is equivalent to 4 GCSEs, either at grade A* to C or D to G depending on ability.
