Further Maths at Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form Free School

Course description

Further Maths is a second A Level in mathematics and is an ideal subject to study at A level if you plan to study mathematics or any other degree that is maths-rich in terms of its content. An AS or A2 qualification in Further Maths will give your UCAS application an edge, with some prestigious university degree courses now requiring a Further Maths qualification.

Many university courses prefer students who have studied Further Maths to at least AS level- if you are unsure about whether to study Further Maths as one of your options make sure that you visit and check whether your dream university degree course would prefer you to have it. Further maths includes the study of such areas as matrices, complex numbers, polar coordinates, differential equations as well as deeper studies of statistics, decision mathematics and mechanics.

Studying Further Maths will develop your problem solving skills, which will help to boost your performance in AS/A level Maths too.
