Food Technology GCSE at Ormskirk School

Course description

Not long ago, there was a limited choice of food products available to us. What we ate was produced locally and didn’t keep fresh for very long. Thanks to food technology, this has all changed. We can now buy a wide choice of products from all over the world, for different meal occasions and consumer needs. If you want to design new products, using food as your material, and have a flair for creating exciting new flavours and textures, then Food Technology GCSE should be your choice. The examination board for this subject is AQA, and the qualification consists of: Coursework Project – 60% Written paper – 40% (you will be entered for either the Foundation or Higher tier based on your ability, and performance in the coursework project).
