Drama and Theatre Studies at Woldgate School and Sixth Form College
Students study Drama and Theatre Studies through learning about a range and breadth of theatre practically and theoretically. Students study published plays, in relation to the ways in which style, form, dramatic structure and characterisation can be interpreted. Students study plays through practical and theoretical activities and look at a range of pre-twentieth century and contemporary plays in terms of period and genre and are required to understand how each play relates to its historical, social and cultural context. Students study the work of a number of influential directors, theatre companies and other practitioners who have made a significant contribution to theatre practice.
