Engineering A-Level at Carr Hill High School and Sixth Form Centre

Course description

Students who have a clear view of their future career or are seeking progression to higher education. The course complements studies in ICT, Maths and Physics.

Course content

The course is divided into 6 compulsory units which include: Engineering Materials, Processes and Techniques, The Role of the Engineer, Principles of Design, Planning and Prototyping, Applied Engineering Systems, The Engineering Environment and Applied Design, Planning and Prototyping.

Entry requirements

5 A* - C grades and GCSE Engineering at KS4.

Future opportunities

The Edexcel GCE in Engineering qualifies for UCAS points. It gives students a wide choice of progression options into further study, training or relevant employment. Students who successfully complete the qualification will be well equipped to move onto degrees, BTEC Higher National Diplomas or NVQs.
