Art & Design BTEC Entry Level 3 Award at Walsall College

Course description

This course is designed to support learners to improve their skills and knowledge within art and design, giving learners the opportunity to explore a variety of art and design techniques.

The course will introduce learners to various creative skills, including:

  • Printmaking
  • Photography
  • 3D design
  • Painting and drawing

Learners will be assessed through a portfolio which they will build throughout the course. There will also be opportunities to visit local access facilities such as Walsall Art Gallery and the Leather Museum.

Entry requirements

No formal qualifications required. Please note that learners with disabilities or Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities may be exempt from some entry requirements. This will be decided on an individual basis and will be subject to suitable evidence and needs assessments. Admissions tutors will work with the Inclusive Support Team to ensure learners with additional support needs are given appropriate advice and guidance.

Assessment

  • Assessment is on going and through the building of a portfolio of evidence.
  • Functional Skills are exam based.
