Motorcycle Maintenance IMI Level 2 Diploma at North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College

Course description

Our Level 2 diploma in Motorcycle Maintenance & Repair offers you the essential skills and knowledge required for working in the demanding and rewarding motorcycle retail sector and can open the door for your future to develop an exciting career in the motorcycle industry.

Course content

During the programme of study you will complete a number of units which offer you the essential knowledge of a motorcycles operational systems and the skills needed for motorcycle maintenance and repair. The units include; health and safety in the working environment, Tools, equipment and fabrication techniques, job roles in the retail automotive maintenance and repair industry, motorcycle construction, motorcycle chassis systems, engines systems, transmission systems, motorcycle electrical unit

Entry requirements

Successful completion of a Level 1 motor vehicle course, GCSE Grades A - C, or relevant industry experience. Initial assessment levels Level 1 - Level 2 in English and Maths, minimum of 80% attendance.

Assessment

You will be assessed carrying out a number of practical tasks in the workshop; there will also be in-class verbal and written assessments and a number of on-line assessments for all of your study programme elements (including English and Maths).

Financial information

You will require steel to-cap boots, overalls, pen/pencil, notepad/folder and a memory stick.

We offer a bursary that students can apply for help with costs that are associated with a course. This could be help with the cost of travel, books, materials, equipment, uniforms, childcare and examination and registration fees. Future opportunities

On successful completion of your study programme including English and Maths your next step will be to progress onto one of our level 3 study programmes. This will be in addition to a high level of commitment, effort, positive attitude and minimum attendance of 95%.

Further information

You will be required to attend 3 days per week as this is a full-time course. It is compulsory for you to attend all sessions including English and Maths functional skills and work experience. A minimum attendance of 95% is required during the programme.
