Apprenticeship in Beauty Therapy at Kingston College

Course description

The Apprenticeship framework is designed to meet the needs of employers and to provide a vocational pathway into a profession. All Apprenticeship frameworks are designed to provide apprentices with the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to perform their job role and to support their future progression. Apprentices at this level will train in roles appropriate to their chosen profession, learning on the job practical skills working at a business three days and attending college two days each week. This apprenticeship will typically train as Beauty Therapists.

Course content

This is a practical programme covering the principles and application of: Health & Safety, client care and communication, facials, eye treatments, waxing, manicure, pedicure, make up and Employee Rights & Responsibilities. Your learning programme may also include GCSE English or Mathematics, depending on your requirements.

Entry requirements

Level 1 Functional Skills in English and Mathematics or GCSE English and Mathematics at grade D/3 or above, successful interview, satisfactory reference and employment in a beauty salon.


Assessment is continuous both in College and the work place.

    • The site at Kingston Hall Road is the College's main site and houses the Student Registry and Welfare departments as well as Deli KC and the ACT Theatre.  The Arena Sports facility and Arena Hair and Beauty are both attached to this building, which also houses the central administration facility for the College.
