Engineering Level 1 and 2 City and Guilds at Banbury and Bicester College
This course provides an opportunity for learners to improve their GCSE English and GCSE maths grades to grade C and also direct progression onto the BTEC Level 3 Engineering*.
With an emphasis on practical study in our outstanding manufacturing workshops, this course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to be able to carry out basic manufacturing processes including, fabrication, sheet metal work, lathe operation and welding. You will also learn some generic engineering skills that can apply to many different types of engineering, including, interpreting engineering drawings and engineering marking out.
Ideally learners must have achieved GSCE Grades D or E with at least a grade D in Mathematics. Learners must also have a positive school report, a satisfactory interview with one of the Engineering team and take an initial assessment.
This course provides direct progression onto the Level 2 City and Guilds Diploma in Engineering – Manufacturing Technology course, full time employment in the engineering manufacturing industry or a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Engineering Manufacturing.
