First Extended Certificate in Business EDEXCEL Level 2 at Northbrook College Sussex

Course description

You will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations.You will study business elements, focusing on tourism organisations, along with specialist travel units. Units have been chosen that interlink and are vocationally relevant allowing you to develop a range of vocational skills.You will be assessed by a range of methods including reports, presentations, with both internal and external assessment, and practical tasks working on projects for the local community.


Three Core Units:

  • Enterprise in the Business World
  • Finance for Business
  • Principles of Marketing


Specialist Units:

Selected units will be delivered that will cover a range of business elements but delivered with a travel and tourism focus, looking at all aspects of the industry, relating to local employment opportunities.

Entry requirements

To start this course you need:
Either
At least 4 GCSEs at grade D or above (including English) 
or 
a relevant Level 1 qualification with full achievement of appropriate Functional Skills qualifications.

All students will need to have a tutor interview and initial assessments prior to being accepted on the course.

Future opportunities

After 1 year you can achieve a BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Business, Travel and Tourism. This means you can apply for one of our Level 3 courses in either Business or Travel & Tourism
