Business BTEC Level 3 at South Craven School, the Technology and Engineering College

Course description

Business Studies may not make you a millionaire by the time you are 21.  It will however provide an exciting insight into the dynamic world of business. BTEC Business will allow you to explore the complex nature of businesses and how they are set up, managed, marketed, financed and hopefully, how they succeed. BTEC Business is conducted through 100% coursework and is ideally suited to students with a good work ethic and who can manage their time and progress well.
Within the Business Department, you will also have the chance to participate in the well regarded Young Enterprise scheme where you can put your entrepreneurial skills to the test. In class you will take part in ‘Student Investor’ where you can try your hand at investing a virtual £100,000 on the stock exchange and a chance to win a trip to New York. There will also be the opportunity to visit local businesses and hear from guest speakers, to gain a more hands on experience of the business world.
