Advanced Apprenticeship in Playwork consists of:* CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Playwork - 501/0997/2* Functional skills maths Level 2* Functional skills English Level 2The aim of this qualification is to contribute to the skills, knowledge and overall performance of play workers. It provides an insight into the principles of care and legislation of the Playwork sector and will aid career development.This QCF competence based qualification is designed for those people who:* are involved in Playwork as their primary work activity* are seeking a career in Playwork and wish to take the first steps towards professional qualifications* wish to gain recognition of their skills and experience in the Playwork sector.

Entry requirements

All prospective learners will undertake an informal interview and complete a skills & scan initial assessment.

Competence based assessment by portfolioThe qualification consists of a minimum of 65 creditsThese are drawn from 46 mandatory credits and a minimum of 19 credits from the optionalUnit selection: Mandatory*Understand Playwork principles*Understand children and young people's self directed play*Understand how to safeguard the well being of children and young people*Understand the organisational framework for play* Understand how to support positive outcomes for children and young people *Understand relationships in the play environment*Understand health, safety and security in the play environment*Understand how to plan and support children and young people's self directed play*Engage in personal development in health and social care or children's and young people's settings*Contribute to an organisational framework that reflects the needs and protects the rights of children and young people.*Develop and maintain healthy, safe and secure play environment for children and young people.*Develop and promote positive relationships in the play environment*Plan for and support children and young people's self directed play

      The site is situated on Talbot Road (A5014), 2 miles from M602 slip Road (Junction 3) and 2 miles from Junction 7 of the M60. The College is located opposite Lancashire County Cricket Club and approximately 10 minutes walk from Old Trafford Football Ground.
