Physics at Drayton Manor High School

Course description

Physics is the study of the properties and interactions of matter and energy. Our understanding of many features of the everyday world relies on knowledge drawn from the ideas and methods of Physics. Key skills developed in Physics include Communication, number application, ICT, teamwork, improving learning and performance and problem solving. Physics complements a variety of subjects and is often taken in conjunction other Sciences and/or Mathematics or other relevant courses such as DT.

Future opportunities

You could take this course with other advanced level courses such as Chemistry, Biology or Electronics to prepare for higher education in a science related subject or more general higher education courses. With further training, you could go into a job related to Physics such as Science Technician or Electronics Engineer. The course will also help you develop the skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers across lots of industries are looking for.
