  • Cognitive Psychology – Memory
  • Developmental Psychology – Early attachment relationships and their effect on adulthood
  • Research Methods – The science behind psychological studies
  • Questions include short answer questions and one 12-mark essay question.

Unit 2:

  • Biological Psychology – Stress and its impact
  • Social Psychology – Conformity and Obedience
  • Individual Differences – Mental illness including Schizophrenia
  • Questions include short answer questions and one 12-mark essay question

Year 13:

Unit 3:

  • Eating Behaviour
  • Romantic Relationships
  • Aggression
  • 3 x essay-style questions

Unit 4:

  • Psychopathology - Schizophrenia
  • Psychology in Action – Addictive behaviours
  • Advanced Research Methods
  • 2 x essay questions, 1 x structured question

 

Assessment

Year 12:

Unit 1 – PSYA1 - 1 hour 30 min exam in June– 50% of AS mark (25% of A2 mark)

Unit 2 – PSYA2 - 1 hour 30 min exam in June – 50% of AS mark (25% of A2 mark)

Year 13:

Unit 3 – PSYA3 - 1 hour 30 minute exam in June – 25% of A2 mark

Unit 4 – PSYA4 - 2 hour exam in June - 25% of A2 mark
