AS - Geography at Chase Terrace Technology College

Course description

The AS / A Level Course is divided into a number of units covering a wide range of topical issues, including hazards, rivers, urban areas, settlement, shopping, coasts, environmental issues and disasters. The course centres around people and their interaction with the world’s many varied environments. It also gives them an insight to the process of decision making and enquiry based critical thinking that is a vital skill in modern day business and work.

Future opportunities

You could take this course to complement other advanced level courses or to prepare for the A2 part of an Advanced GCE, which could lead onto higher education to study geography, other areas of humanities, science or more general higher education courses. With further training, you could go into a job related to geography such as a Town Planner, Environmental Officer or Weather Forecaster. You could also go straight into a job as the AS GCE is a recognised qualification that will help you to develop the basic skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers across lots of industries are looking for.
