Plumbing Studies City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma at Weymouth College

Course description

If you wish to learn the basics and move towards a qualification as a plumber then these courses are for you. The course offers skills and knowledge in a wide range of plumbing and heating engineering aspects.

Course content

The practical and theoretical subjects will include the fundamentals in building services engineering: • Health and safety in building • Services engineering • Electrical principles and processes for building services engineering • Scientific principles for domestic, industrial and commercial plumbing • Common plumbing processes • Cold water systems • Domestic hot water systems • Sanitation • Central heating systems • Drainage systems • Understand how to communicate with others within building services engineering.

Entry requirements

• Selection is by interview. • A positive attitude and a willingness to work hard. • Applications from mature students are welcome. • You will need to attend an assessment day. Plus the following • 4 GCSEs at grade D or above including English, maths and science • completion of the Level 1 Diploma in Plumbing

Assessment

Your coursework will be continually assessed through each unit. There is no exam at the end of the course.

Future opportunities

You can progress from Level 1 to Level 2, both qualifications will improve your prospects of finding employment or apprenticeship training in the plumbing/domestic heating industry.
