Travel & Tourism BTEC Level 3 Diploma at Grantham College
The BTEC Diploma in Travel & Tourism course is ideal if you are interested in entering this rapidly growing industry. Students will study the BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Year 1 (1 A level) and upon successful completion of this will progress to the BTEC Level 3 Diploma. This is equivalent to 2 A-Levels respectively, allowing you when you have finished the course to either get a job or go directly into higher education to study a HND or HNC. The subjects covered will focus on particular aspects of employment within the sector, providing you with the underpinning knowledge needed, as well as developing your practical skills.
Subjects covered include:
- Customer Services in Travel & Tourism
- Holiday Representatives
- Incoming & Domestic Tourism
- Residential, Study Visit
- The Cruise Industry
- Tour Operations
As well as these subjects, you will be required to continue to study English & maths as part of your course, if you have not achieved a grade C or above at GCSE.
This course will be delivered in the first year as a one year Subsidiary Diploma and if relevant grades are met learners will continue onto the Level 3 Diploma in their second year.
5 GCSEs (Grade C or above including English or maths) or equivalent.
Full Time Further Education courses are free for those who are under 19 on 31 August of the year they start their course. Exam resit fees may apply if and when applicable.
This qualification helps you to progress on to higher - level qualifications such as a degree or professional qualification. It can also act as the ideal preparation for a range of jobs in the public or private sector including airline Cabin Crew, Travel Agent & Events Management.
