Music A Level at St Peter's Catholic Comprehensive School
Students’ practical skills as a musician will be central to learning in this course. They will develop their critical ear, performance skills (solo and/or ensemble), ability to compose music and learn about harmony (the basics at AS and stylistic studies at A2). They will build up their aural and anylitical skills by studying diverse selections from the ‘New Anthology of Music’ and wider listening. There will be opportunities for students to give public performances, working alongside other musicians.
Grade B and above at GCSE Music, and the ability to read music. Ability to sing or play an instrument. It is an advantage to play at Grade 5 and above. You will need to work hard and be committed to completing assignments within the given deadlines.
