Psychology at Carlton le Willows Academy
Psychology is the study of human behaviour.
In year 12 (AS) 5 areas of psychology are examined:
The memory, especially in relation to eyewitness testimony.
Attachments and developments in children.
The nature and effects of stress.
Abnormality with special reference to mental disorders.
Obedience, conformity and ethics.
Types of research methods are also studied.
In year 13 (A2) a further 5 areas of psychology are studied:
Sleep and sleep disorders.
Explanations of aggressive behaviour.
The development of intelligence.
Explanations of schizophrenia.
The psychology of addictive behaviour.
Research methods are also examined in more detail.
BB in Core and Additional Science or B grade in Biology and B grade in English Language
