Music Technology AS/A at Ormskirk School

Course description

It is the aim of the department that the courses be both stimulating and rewarding with scope for individual interests and aptitudes. The course is suitable for those who wish to follow further studies in music at university or music college or for those who have a genuine interest in the subject and intend to pursue other options beyond A Levels. All students will receive individual advice and assistance with their work and are encouraged to use the facilities of the department in their study periods. There are two well-equipped music rooms, a practice room, an A Level teaching room with a large range of books, musical scores and CD’s the department contains 25 PC’s with Sibelius and Cubase software and a recording studio with a 24 channel Maci Desk. SPECIFIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS - Music Technology: GCSE Grade B or a fair degree of ability to perform at a competent level on an Instrument or the voice. Some keyboard facility is an advantage.
