Accounting and Finance Level 2 AAT Certificate at Redbridge College

Course description

This course introduces the basic principles of Accountancy and will set you on the path to an exciting career. Our Accounting students study for AAT qualifications which are recognised and respected globally, they become proficient in some of the most in-demand skills in the world and lead to a professional status to be proud of.

Course content

Units you will study include:

  • Basic accounting I and II
  • Working effectively in accounting and finance
  • Basic costing
  • Computerised accounting

It is important to realise that you will also study an additional Level 2 IFS qualification IN ADDITION TO the AAT Certificate. This additional course ensures that you reach the required number of guided learning hours to be eligible for full-time student status and encompasses teaching that will prepare you for work in the finance and banking sectors. Functional Skills: 16 - 18: You will also study English and maths  to support your main course 19+: You may study one of the functional skills if appropriate.

Entry requirements

You will need to have achieved three GCSEs at Grade D, including English and/or maths. You will also need to have achieved a bookkeeping qualification or show evidence of work experience in an accounting office environment plus an interview.

Assessment

You'll be taught by our highly skilled team of staff who will pass on their years of industry knowledge and experience to you. You will be assessed by a combination of externally-set AAT exams and internal case study portfolios.

Future opportunities

On successful completion of this course you will be qualified to enter employment at a junior level.
