Entry to the Uniformed Services NCFE Foundation Diploma Level 1 at Fareham College

Course description

If a career in the uniformed or public services appeals to you, then this course will provide you with a good introduction into this area of work

Course content

The course will cover:  

  • Employment opportunities in the uniformed services

  • Well-being and physical fitness

  • Team-working skills

  • Developing self-discipline

  • Map reading and navigation

  • Participation in competitive sports

  • Participation in adventurous activities

You will also go on course related visits to organisations such as the Army, Fire Services, RAF and Navy. As well as being able to take part in residential trips to Wales or Spain.

Entry requirements

A basic level of numeracy and literacy is required to comply with the health and safety and assessment aspects of the course. This will be discussed at your interview.

Financial information

You will be required to purchase a uniform to wear in class and for practical activities and pay a contribution towards external visits.

Future opportunities

You can potentially progress to a Level 2 Uniformed Services course or another related Level 2 course.
