GCSE English Language at Nether Stowe School
The AQA GCSE English Language syllabus explores the way Media and Non-Fiction texts are presented and the ways in which language and a range of presentational features are used to create meanings. Students will study a range of texts and will be taught how to shape their own writing to suit a form, audience and purpose.
Assessment is by the following:
Examination: 2 hours 15 minutes on Media and Non-Fiction
Controlled Assessments: One reading, two creative writing, one spoken language study, three speaking and listening tasks.
A qualification in English Language will be essential to secure college places and most jobs.
